Douglas Melvin Todoroff
Nov. 27, 1946-Feb. 3, 2025
Doug Todoroff lived life with love, laughter, and dedication to those he held dear. Born on November 27, 1946, to Boris and Doris Todoroff, he grew up in Walnut Creek, California, alongside his older brothers Dave and Don and his younger sister Judy.
He graduated from Las Lomas High School in 1964 and after serving in the Air Force Doug returned to the Bay Area and was told he should call an old classmate, Gail Mercier. And so began their beautiful life together. On May 6, 1972, Doug and Gail were married at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Doug returned to school and earned a degree in economics from San Jose State University and entered the banking world, eventually ending up at Valley Bank of Nevada as the Executive Vice President of Lending. He played a pivotal role in financing many of Las Vegas’ most iconic resorts, including The Mirage and Bellagio, helping shape the city’s skyline.
Doug’s greatest joy was always his family. He and Gail welcomed two children into their lives: Brian Douglas Todoroff, and Amanda Ryan Todoroff (Koppes). As a father, Doug was full of love and would go to the ends of the earth for his children.
He and Gail were inseparable, true partners in every adventure, and wholly dedicated to each other. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage and love.
Doug was a man who lived through humor, dedication, and deep love. His kindness and generosity touched all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, in the stories they will continue to share, the jokes they will tell, and the lives he touched.
